FAQ

Q: Do you shoot film or digital?
A: We shoot 99% digital, on the rare occasion we still may use a Mamiya 67pro for landscape work.

Q: How do I inquire about shoot?
A: All you need to do is either call (02) 43588524 or email photos@tierneys.net.au and inform us of what type of shoot you are looking for, we will provide you with available dates, shoot details, costs with NO hidden charges and any other information you might require.

Q: How do I secure my booking?
A: To secure a booking you need to pay a 50% deposit. This will secure your shoot on the date that was agreed. A receipt with your booking details will be emailed to you. The remainder of the invoice is payable no later than the day of the shoot. The 50% deposit is not refundable but is transferable to a later available date.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept direct deposit, eftpos, visa, bankcard, mastercard, cheques, money orders and cash. Credit card transactions incur a 4% fee (bank fee) and cheques must be cleared before any photographs are released.

Q: Photographers are renowned for having hidden costs, what hidden costs do you have?
A: None! What you see is what you get. We have NO minimum buy traps. The only fee that is out of our control is the standard credit card banking fee. We could increase our prices to cover and hide this cost but we believe you should be aware of who you are paying your hard earned cash to.

Q: Do you have a studio?
A: We utilise the following facility for our studio work: LA Studios Tuggerah This provides us with the extra space we usually require due to the equipment we use, & also offers a much wider range of in-studio possibilties for our clients.

Q: Who will be my photographer?
A: At Tierney's we have two portrait photographers, Lauren Tierney & Damain Tierney. We do NOT sub contract our shoots to third party photographers. This is to ensure our clients recieve the consistent high quality service expected from Tierneys.

Q: How far ahead should I book my shoot?
A: For bookings from October through to December we recommend booking about 6 months before your shoot. Allow at least a month for all other times. We are generally in very high demand during October - December, we are often heavily booked so book early to ensure your date is secured. It is always possible though that dates will become available due to cancellations so always feel free to enquire about our available dates at any time. When you book your shoot you can also request to be placed on our cancellations list - this means that if we have a cancellation, we may call you to offer you the slot.

Q: Will you travel outside the Central Coast region?
A: We travel to Newcastle and Northern Sydney at no extra cost. We will travell outside these areas if all travelling expenses are paid.

Q: I just had my shoot, whats next?
A: Once we have conducted your shoot it will only take a few days before your online proof page will be available for viewing. Your online proof page will be displayed for 1 month, this can be extended to 6 weeks upon request. Once you have selected your images simply email the image numbers, amounts and sizes to Tierneys, where you order will be processed. Once an order is received it generally takes 2 weeks before the photographs are in your hands.

Q: What happens to the image files after I have completed my order?
A: All images are backed up on our NAS for archiving. We do not delete our images after an order has been completed. While no guarantees are given, all care is taken to store and preserve all shoots on multiple backup devices. Your images should be availabe for viewing upon request for years to come.

Q: Do you shoot weddings?
A: No. We do not shoot weddings. We would however shoot a wedding theme.

Q: Do you provide full resolution files?
A: As of March 2010 we will provide 5X7 inch files on CD of all ordered photographs, these are to be used for print and non commercial web display. Commercial releases are available.
